So, I've noticed recently that a number of people I send email to seem to mark my messages as spam. Couldn't figure out why, until I realized that my default signature included the message to "download free software" from cascadetg.com.
I'm guessing that at this point, pretty much every spam filter on earth regards the word "free" as a Bad Thing(tm). Even worse, people who have replied to me have, upon occasion, been automatically filtered by my spam filter. I don't trust my filter enough not to at least scan my junk folder every day or so, so I usually check it, but still... Maybe I should switch to a different word. Like, say, gratis. Or, apparently, cuffo, although cuffo doesn't show up in the dictionary. Sigh. Wednesday, March 03, 2004
