LOL - looks like I wrote too soon. Between my last post and now, it turns out that I can publish an Atom feed. Here it is...

FYI, there is no support for comments or RSS/Atom/etc on this weblog - if you think that's something I should add, let me know.
That said, RSS is a mess right now, and Atom isn't here yet. I use Blogger for this weblog, which doesn't support RSS (technically, RSS is only supported for BloggerPro accounts, and you can't sign up for a new BloggerPro account...). I could whip up a PHP script to generate an RSS feed from Blogger using their web service APIs, although it would be a bit gross. I'll confess that I don't bother with RSS readers. Instead, I use the excellent Firebird web browser (get it here). I just click a single button in the morning, and it simultaneously loads all of the websites I regularly visit into tabs. It makes my morning news read nice and easy, and I get to see all of the sites in their native format. WRT comments, the only way I'd want to support comments would be by implementing a registration system (lots of people have had problems with comment spammers - sigh - and generally speaking the signal to noise ratio is pretty low). That said, if I notice a lot of traffic, I'll think about adding comment support.

Ok. So, I've noticed that a lot of you have broken spam filter. To be precise, it seems that a lot of the email I've been sending out has been swallowed by over-aggressive spam filters. The irony, of course, is that there is no way for me to tell that email I'm sending you is getting swallowed by your spam filter.
Best case, this means that I get email or phone calls wondering "why haven't you gotten back to me?" Worst case, this means that people think I'm flaking on them. This is very, very, very annoying. Please check your filters. Thank you. Monday, January 19, 2004
